A poster with the title 'The Reality We Refuse to Accept' and five statistics about youth arrests, community supervision, law enforcement impact, students of color, and racial disparities in the justice system.

Our why

We’ve seen both sides of the justice system; one where privilege protects and another where it punishes. Too many boys of color are misunderstood, mislabeled, and criminalized instead of cared for.

For Our Boys exists to change that, to protect, empower, and restore every child’s right to be seen, supported, and free. Our work is rooted in love and legacy. Inspired by a grandmother’s promise that “Our boys are gonna be okay,” we’re turning that hope into action.

We are working from our communities to Capitol Hill to build a future where our boys — especially our boys of color — can truly flourish.

“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.” — Nelson Mandela

Our How

For Our Boys takes action on three fronts — helping families today, transforming systems tomorrow, and creating pathways for every child to be valued, protected, and uplifted.

Support Families

We stand beside families navigating the justice system — providing guidance, resources, and community so no parent has to face it alone. We listen, we show up, and we walk with them every step of the way.

Educate & Empower

We work with schools, courts, and communities to shift mindsets from punishment to understanding. Through education, training, and advocacy; we open hearts and equip allies to see the whole child, not just a circumstance.

Reform Systems

We push for policy change from our communities to Capitol Hill. Challenging practices that criminalize childhood and replacing them with systems that protect, uplift, and restore.

Motivational quote that says, 'Small steps are still progress. Change begins one family, one policy, one act of courage at a time.'

The Road AHead…

We know real change doesn’t happen overnight. The systems we’re working to transform were built over generations and it will take time, persistence, and community to rebuild them with compassion and justice at their core.

For Our Boys is starting at the grassroots level. We are listening, learning, and taking action one family, one school, and one policy at a time. We’re building a foundation for lasting change, one that turns awareness into action and hope into justice, laying the groundwork for a future where justice protects, compassion leads, and every child belongs.
